Eeeeks! New Dream Theater Greatest Hits remixes butchered!!!

I was pretty excited to see that Kevin Shirley remixed 3 songs for the new Dream Theater Greatest Hit package. I downloaded the 3 from iTunes, and am blown away by how bad they sound. I had to go back to make sure I wasn't mistaken that maybe they were the original band recorded demos or something. Nope, just really crappy mixes. I'm about 50/50 on Shirley's mixing. When it's good it's stellar (Led Zep's How The West Was Won, or Silverchair's Frogstomp), when this is just wrong. It's like they couldn't possibly turn the snare up any higher, and all depth and body has been removed leaving an overcompressed dry suckfest.

Bummer.

Dunno? Haven't heard it. Are you being sarcastic, or does it not sound good?

Yeah I mean the least they could have done is put the original Pull Me Under in there for the casual fans who would probably prefer to hear the song the way they remember it.
