| Threads and archives I was reading through the old guest moderator archives, and things weren't left as i remembered them. One particular example was the famous pyramix flame fest that, as i remember, was in Mike Shipley's guest forum and NOT high end gear. In between the obvious bickering, there was some good info about dsd. So unless i am not remembering it correctly, what is up with that, Jules? It was a thread Mr Shipley started in his forum. Why hide it in neutral territory? Preserve the threads as they were. Also, as a suggestion, any chance you could make sub-forums for each individual guest person? It was a real pain guessing when charles dye started his stint here. And the older guests were an even bigger shot in the dark. Don't hide this stuff, it is one of the "selling" points of this site. And please don't alter them after they have been allowed, if you truly do (and i'm not just hallucinating it. Memory is going with age). |

| Er.... Old guest moderation posts get stashed there with one button click. There is nothing sinister about how they get there... no editing done to them. I dont have time to order them as you suggest and unfortunately sub forums would be visible on the main page and would make it too messy. I will keep your ideas in mind in case your ideas can be achived with new forum software when we upgrade. Please bear in mind - with the forum software - the idea "if you think it, you can do it" DOES apply, however it might take someone 2 weeks to write a custome tweak to the code to achive it! It's simply not as sophisticated as some folks would like to think it is. ![]()

| Lives for gear | Jules , the look and feel of the site is great. Very easy to use and clear. Please try not to change that when you upgrade. I think everyone would agree on that part. LTA's suggestion is cool though

| Don't get me wrong, i love way the site is organized and operated. I just really think this pyramix thread started its life in the guest moderator forum. Also, while the guest archive forum is locked, certain individual threads are also locked, while most are not. It may have been a single click, but the transfer doesn't appear to be 1:1. There are a few examples of this on the front page. Specifically, "Steel Guitar on 'Come On Over'," "Whats your approach to building a mix?", and "Shania & Faith = snare samples?". It just seems odd to me. I do apologize for the conspiracy theory. I realize now the CIA had nothing to do with it ;)

| This site is great. Apart of Friday evening quite fast and very practical. Only some little functional things like linking to pics seems to work merely occasionally for me - and maybe a couple more Smiley versions wouldn´t be bad. Ruphus

| Well fine, since i am the picker of nits now.... This site tends to lock up safari on jaguar while i am typing out posts. Everything gets really slow, and the typing doesn't show up. If safari locks up, the computer locks up. If i close the gearslutz window, the other windows resume normal behavior, but GS won't work right again until i restart the browser. The longer i sit with the "post" page open, the more likely it is to happen. Oddly, it almost seems to be related to what banner ad is flying at the top of the screen. Mercenary has been up there during more lockups than any other ad. Probably just coincidence. And before you ask, this happens to me on 2 different macs, and has been going on for many months. The issue has survived more than a few system software reinstalls too. Bad code somewhere, perhaps? Or is it because i have cubase SX 2 installed on my computer?
