I have no idea what the real information is here. I would guess there's stuff we haven't heard, the story being somewhat one sided and not enough of it anyway. So it's kind of silly to guess what I'd do given the situation. Violence is out since you can go to prison for that, regardless who's at fault. It's called assault and battery. If talking to dude doesn't work then it's time to talk my ex-clients. Then it's time to discredit dude and go on the attack, if my reputation were really damaged. I can't imagine something so silly. If my shit were THAT F'ed up I'd look to myself and try to figure out what I'VE been doing wrong that could have led to such stupid circumstances. Then it's time to move on. I would never waste too much time and effort on something like this. If bridges have been burned I'd chalk it up to experience and build some new bridges.

I think the core of what I am saying is that anybody can make things up for any reason. The problem is when people give the lies power by not only believing them, but acting on them. That is why this is pissing me off..

He is a known drug dealer and all around slime ball. I should have listened to those who kept telling me he was no good.

Thanks guys for all the input..

Pardon my ignorance. But why the hell would you get involved with a known drug dealer?

Hope things work out and you can put this behind you and move on with your life.

Check out any tabloid mag, some people will believe absolutely anything. At the end of the day, if people are talking shit about you, they're probably jealous or they have nothing going on in their own lives. It completely sucks when you're telling the truth and nobody believes you, we've all been there before. Some lessons cost more than others, so if you can walk away from this relatively unscathed and move forward in your life, just take it as life experience and never trust drug addicts/dealers for ANYTHING, EVER

Ditto. I don't now if that was your first mistake. I'm sure it wasn't, but that's pretty dumb. What are you doing getting involved with a known drug dealer?? Part of the deal is in knowing how to pick your people. That's got to be right up there close to number one.

Good luck.

As an aside, I once lived with a dealer and he ended up starting a major fire in our apartment when I was out of town. I came home and he was nowhere to be found and the place was charred black and 80% of my stuff was destroyed. That's when I learned my lesson about ****ed up druggies. Stay away from them like the plague

I didn't know he was a dealer when I met him. He played himself off as a good kid who need a chance. I noticed he knew a lot of people and was good at being social 'a skill I lack"

When I found out what he was really about I should hev kicked him to the curb where he belonged. My fault for being nice!

i don't know if any of you cought my post about young educated engineers & lack of employment, but i don't think it's difficult to see that it's an issue.

and hearing about events like this makes my blood just boil.
it's chumps like the one your talking about who ruin it for honest guys like myself.

i know if i was givin an oppertunity like you gave him, i would hold onto it for dear life, and certainly wouldn't go around slandering those who handed me said oppertunity.
especially not in this biz.

i really hope you get to the bottom of things and clear everything up with those connections he botched.

i also really hope KARMA comes back and ninja kicks that kid in mouth.

good luck

Which is, forgive me for being blunt, exactly what you deserve...

Why do people make the mistake of assigning "manager" status to an inexperienced, non-manager, friend, etc? Would you hire a lawyer that way? "okay Joe, you be the lawyer and I'll be the client."

You said he is a "Known drug dealer and all-around slimeball". You may not have known at first, but that just shows you didn't ask around.

I wish you no ill will, but I also have no sympathy.

People in show biz need to learn this lesson - DON'T HIRE "PLAY" MANAGERS!!!!

When you are ready for genuine management, it will present itself.

And if you do start to actually have a viable career, you're just going to have to hire a real manager - have fun paying double commissions!

You need a lawyer, my friend. slander and libel are something you can fight. WITH AN ATTORNEY.

I am not sure why you did not seek a legal remedy immediately.
Based on your side of the story there is libel, slander and tortuous interference involved here and in cases like yours are usually very easy and quick to get a judgment on as well as actual and punitive damages awarded to you. After the win you put a press release out and send to your clients.

I have been involved in two cases like this in my life. Problem solved pretty quickly. And any irreparable financial damages that were caused have been paid back in monthly payments over the last 15 years - mostly with the help of a constable from time to time serving an employer with garnishment orders.

New developments !

I am now on speaking terms with my old manager who has revealed much to me! He did in-fact work with one of my top clients and I was nearly replaced. So my "Hollywood" client was lying to me and using the both of us to get something.

Is it so hard to find a studio or a group to work in?

I need proper management and trustworthy people in my life....

I contacted a Lawyer, but some of the slander is hard to prove it caused damage. I do have several e-mails proving the slander.

Someone lied in Hollywood to take advantage of you?!

When you don't get what you want, you get experience. Don't learn that lesson twice, it's pretty cut throat out here and the lengths people go to playing games just makes my head spin at times...
