Eddie Van Halen messes up again ?

i wonder if this is true:

----------------------------------------------------
Sources tell TMZ the VAN HALEN tour has just been canceled

We're told arrangements are being made right now to cancel hotel stays for the tour -- which was scheduled to continue through April 19th. Sources tell us the reason for the cancellation is Eddie -- that he is having "issues."

The last three shows had already been canceled. There have been reports that Eddie was out of it during concerts -- and video of recent performances in which his guitar playing was atrocious.

Reps could not be reached for comment.

What in the name of cream of mushroom soup was that video? Good God!! I will just assume that it was shot at his worst moment of addiction and that the people in the crowd who applauded after he basically did....nothing, were either paid or on the same stuff he was on. If he was anyone other than EVH, the band would have walked off the stage and the applause would have been boos. It's really sad to see someone with such talent wind down a great career with embarrassing videos like that. He'll always be a hero of mine, but good grief, I bet the guitar player for Wham could have beat him in a solo competition on that night. I had off nights when we gigged, but after that video, I'm feeling pretty good about me lol.

Interesting. I just looked at the real video (here for those too lazy to read the article: YouTube - Jump @ Van Halen in Concert, Fort Lauderdale, 2/20/08). Pretty bad!

Looks like he was out to get David Lee Roth.

Well, off-topic, but since you posted another "shreds" video I have to see your vid and raise you another.

YouTube - Steve Vai shreds in Denver

I love that one. The best part is all of the facial expressions he makes for the cameras.

Unhappy Sad.

This is sad. I went to one of the shows and despite all the politics and snips.... it was amazing and he IS one THE all-time greatest guitar players... whether he's going through something now or not.

My hope was his son and a desire to secure his position in history.

It's so easy for all of us to make snide remarks, but it really is a sad moment and I only hope he finds his way to a clean life and hopefully to create new music in the future.

(Guess my Eddie custom and personally signed guitar is worth a bit more if this is "it" for him.... I hope not)

Well, I just don't find this to be incredibly sad. We all make choices and have to live by them. It's not like Van Halen would have a rough time if he could get his freakin' act together! With people starving in the world I'm not going to feel sorry Van Halen.

But, that's just me!

I'm in awe of 2 things about those "shred" vids 1) how well done they are and 2)the fact that someone out there has that kind of time on their hands...
