BAD THREADS ON GEARSLUTZ. IM DOWN

My god, my brain can't even handle the incompetent, cute, stupid waves of bad threads that have popped up all over the past few months. ITS DEVASTATING. have you seen some of them?

I WOULD SAY 1/3 OF THE THREADS HEAR ARE SH#@!$@!.

Do some research before you go yanking on everyones dick for words or opinions that you could have if you just took a minute to think about the situation or piss poor problem you have (example: soloing a track while EQing it or not?)....omg....omg....what has this website come too.

(another example: whats that plate barrier in front of the microphone?)seriously go out there and find all the bad ones. its disturbing, its just people looking for attention.

By the same token, you could've just used the search function and contributed to either of the X number of threads discussing the same thing.

Can't people just relax when they're here? Jeez...

Yeah really I think the whining about how things are so "awful" is more awful than the few morons who come in here and post a little BS.

You have "ignore" lists. Use them!

And if you still don't like it, skeddadle.

To be quite honest, if anyone's got a bad signal->noise ratio, it's you. Just this evening, you've made about 3-4 posts that are totally irrelevant, insulting, and make you sound pretty immature. Including one "ker-razy" reply to what seemed like a serious question from you!

As I pointed out there, neither I nor those posting advice on the solo-while-EQing thread thought it was stupid. It's just you.

Yes, there's lots of posts asking the same basic question. However, there's also lots of people who jump on these threads offering the same advice. If the more repetative ones simply had "do a search" or links back to the previous threads as replies, there'd be less repetition. Your way of replying with an insulting or frankly (for a native English speaker, I'm guessing) incomprehendable reply that you think is some way witty or wacky just makes you look like the village idiot, not the OP.

I didn't realize Jules was twisting your arm to read all those threads. How about some advice? If you think a thread is useless, don't read it.

thanks guys. your support has really uplifted my resent. I may have been insulting, didn't mean to come off that way...seriously.

as for being the village idiot: I was just feeling like one today, so its a coincidence you saw that too. But I would like to point to the charts to show the mass numbers of threads being posted since a couple months ago. I think I was just looking for some pity like: "Its okay, don't let those monster threads get the best of you. love peace." after all this is the moans zone

I'm must say, they're on point with this situation.

IMO, how you respond to the poster is more important than the original posters "stupid" question or thought.

I like to look at it this way...

There are no stupid questions just stupid answers.

Everybody here is at a different point in the history of their involvement with engineering. If that's a problem for you, find a site where you have to submit mixes for approval before being granted the ability to post.

Better yet, build the site yourself. Make a treehouse with a web server, and only let the rope ladder down when somebody gives the secret password. Get good at folding newspaper hats...you will have to distribute them to your membership. That should take about 1 sheet of newspaper (2 if you haven't practiced lately, and need a spare).

By the way, you have a future in politics. You were able to insult a question (EQ, solo) without ever giving a hint at what you think the answer is. Add some red, white and blue bunting to that treehouse you're thinking of building, and a bullhorn. But my estimation of the total amount of newspaper involved for hats still stands.

Easy, just use the [new post] function and then click on threads that interest you. Ignore the others. It is a real time savor.

There has been a lot more noise in recent times on the boards, but most of it has been in hostile replies to simple questions. If someone asks a really stupid question and you know how simple the answer is, maybe pass that answer on to them. I mean, you only know because somebody somewhere told you, right? Think of it as repaying the person that helped you out once upon a time.

Ain't that the truth!

That's a great way of looking at things...to be honest, how much of what anybody knows comes from direct observation, and how much comes in the way of passed-down knowledge? In this game, passed-down knowledge is the trellis that gives form to our growth through observation and experience. Precepts are learned conceptually, and through years of refining our senses, those precepts reveal themselves to be true through direct observation. But the realization that "wow, so THIS is what he was talking about..." would never happen unless the concept was already there. I owe a lot of people for teaching me things whose truth was not obvious, and took years of hard work to uncover.

What kind of arrogance is it to shout at someone who is still in the process of discovery? We've all been there...and honestly, are still there, at least until we exchange our days above ground for days below it. And unless you are the true one in a million, all you are doing is perfecting a craft whose borders were delineated by greater minds than yours, and whose precepts you still trying to come to terms with. So don't be an arrogant sh*t about what you know. Somebody else put it in your head in the first place.

Now get back to building that treehouse.

Isn't the password something to do with tigers being great, and the e-pi-to-me of something or other?! I want to join the Get Rid Of Slimy girlS club!

(sorry - you are referring to Calvin and Hobbes aren't you?!)
