Not a Grammy Nomination

So I have a coupla clients who are claiming to be nominated for a Grammy and I'm thinking WTF!!!!??!!

First of all these are not the grammy nominees, they are the albums submitted for nomination. Not too tough to get in that group.

Secondly, they don't stand a chance in hell nor do they deserve it.

So, here's the question.

Do I clue the bastards in on the fact they are calling there submissions a nomination? This is the ethical stuff that drives me bananas. One of the artists is certainly popular enough in this location. I can't imagine that it helps to put out a false clain that they are nominated for a grammy. Let alone, there are people calling me to get my take on it.

With clients like this, who needs health insurance?

I DO, For the rise in my freakin' blood pressure.

Hmm. Is their bill paid up? Then who gives a shit? Everyone will figure it out when they're not on TV. If anyone asks you, tell the truth.

Some people say 'fake it until you make it'. Face it, much of the stuff that is sold well is not particularly interesting. Many artists make it though will relatively uninteresting music, they have other 'qualities'. That said, some great stuff without communicative qualities risk not making it. Saying you are listed for a Grammy is not that immoral.
(As compared to zillion sexual undercurrents and then have people think 'the mix was great' (....) ella...

Bills paid. I give a shit anytime ethics are called into question. That's just my utopian way of trying to make things better.

On the scale of average political communication that is still very harmless.
(And they'll probably get away with in in court too.)
If you are on the list you are nominated to be nominated.
A word game. Kindly address other world improving topics.

Cool studio you have though!

Yeah, not court but I do have clients that have been nominated and won. There's a whole different level of professionalism about them. It just reeks of a sleazyness that perpetuates the bad part of the music business.

Hijacking my own thread...
In other world improving topics, I discovered that driving the speed limit on I-5 saves me about 15% of gas consumption. Imagine if everyone drove the speed limit. I now feel like the slowest driver in the Northwest, but I'm sticking to it. Gas is too damn expensive and we don't seem to interested in finding any more or an alternative. So, will someone cowboy up and drive the speed limit with me?

Thanks for the studio note! It's hard work but I love it. It's the only reason I'm posting on GS at 1:30 AM and not sleeping next to my lovely wife...

... better go home

If I don't get a grammy, I don't get a grammy. It's as simple as that. It ain't about that at all. It's easy to sum it up if you're just talking about a submission. We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the guitar player, and we're talking about a submission. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about a submission, not a grammy, not a grammy, not a grammy, but we're talking about a submission. Not the grammy that I go out there and die for and play every note like it's my last but we're talking about a submission man. How silly is that?

it sucks there are sleaze balls in this industry- and they stick out like sore thumbs next to people who really have passion and drive.

as far as driving the speed limit...i'm on I-90 and I-79 alot- so if you see a white sunfire blow by you with new york plates, hesitate before you flip me off... i'm a good kid.

Hang in Kung,

Our University won a solar car race 4 years in a row. If your car industry does not over-PR those achievements you'll be able to get one of those. (Looks a bit like Elysia design and does 60mph...so far.)

I'm with ya. Ever since I went from a V6 sedan to a 4-cylinder Element (read: toaster), I've really noticed the difference speed and driving style makes regarding gas consumption. I was getting horrible mileage when I first got it using my old driving style (lead foot = <16mpg). Now that I take my time and enjoy the ride, I'm getting 22+. Big difference for a little change in style.

Don't use A/C as much either unless you absolutely need it. That makes a big difference, too. 2-4 mpg in my experience

More than likely they'll catch plenty of crap from their friends when the truth comes out. Exaggerating your achievements usually comes back to bite you.
