Anyone dislike their Barefoot MM27s?

This isn't intended to be a bash the MM27s thread, they clearly are excellent speakers. Ive been saving to purchase a pair to replace my Proac 100s. Not having any large speakers has been hard during mixing, as well as overdubbing bass, etc etc.
Anyway, Im just wondering if anyone has purchased a pair or worked on a pair and not liked them, and why.
Monitors are such a personal preference, but I've only heard glowing reviews and Im just trying to do all the research possible.

Thanks,
Scott

Don't expect anyone who bought them to say anything less than praises.
So, new MM27 appreciation thread may start now

I was also initially skeptical about the preponderance of praise --- until I tried (demoed) them. For something in this price bracket, I would recommend trying to get a hold of a pair to demo as it still comes down to a subjective call. That said, to your initial question, I cannot comment because I the MM27s have more than met my expectations.

I've had a pair of the MM27's for almost 7 mos. now. Simply put they are a great but I also rely on other monitors to really know what is going on at the end of the day. I was mixing on another of my favorite pair of speakers for several years and they are still my first choice for the final tweaking. I believe this is due to my being so used to them for awhile now. I don't really think one set of speakers does it all for me. The Barefoots allow me to crank it up without going to the big mains all the time, and they are very revealing in their own special way.

1 minus

They were really heavy to carry upstairs.

......being a jerk. Sorry.

I had to wait for others to hijack this thread before I did (in a kind way).

I feel way confident, and in checking outside refs and my clients responses I
know they're doing me right.

They are real heavy though.

I will say that with the side firing drivers, I found that my MM27's had to be placed very thoughtfully in my room.Otherwise, the bass was doing some unexpected things, generally on the side of being overwhelming. They wound up coming substantially further off the wall behing them than the Dyn BM15A's they replaced.I have a nicely treated, smallish but not claustrophobic room. I wonder if someone tossing these into a tight, randomly treated room might have some lowend struggles. That said, once I got them placed they became a dream to work on! I hope this helps.

I hope to be one who can say "NO" to the question of this thread... I'm still waiting on mine that were ordered at the first of September...

Can't get VK to give me any answers and I don't want to bug Mr. BF too much! I think VK delayed getting my order in or something...

<...more crickets...>

What I do not like about MM27 is they are hard to carry because speakers are on three sides. Also they should come with longer power cables since the connectors are not regular IEC.

MM27 is a breakthrough product. I think no other company can sell better monitor than MM27 for less than $10000. It is magic to me that Barefoot can sell MM27 for $6000. DIY Kit price. BTW, I sold my Lipinski and Focal.

I always carry them with the amp side leaned back against my chest, one hand on a bottom front corner, and one hand on the opposite top front corner.

Point taken about the power cord.

No magic. But needless to say, we are not getting rich.

barefoot road case?

I transport my studio when the lease is due. Has anyone created a road case for the MicroMain27's? Jan-al made this case for my D-command.
