| Why does something always have to go wrong???????
Ok............
I finally made the jump to building my own small project studio for the simplist of apps. nothing huge, not trying to win a grammy or anything. But after working for years in a friends studio and after thinking about music 24/7 and thinking i had a good understanding, at aleast a foundation to start from, i decided to build my own project that would allow my to capture good vocals and then of course transport them else where to be mixed properly by people who do it far better than i do.
so i go out and buy a interface, good cables a 300 begginer mic(budget limit) a 800 pre and compressor and blah blah blah....well after hooking it up i instantly noticed a difference in sound from my friends studio....and i chalked itup as the interface was crappy or the mic must not be as good,
well shows how much i know cause for the last 6 months i hae been trying to squeese a good sound out of a defective interface....
I woulda never realized that the product was faulty if my buddy did notgo out and get the same thing and his sounded the way i thought mine should sound....
this whole time my interface has been providing me with asymetrical wav forms essentially killing all of the head room that i have which were eventually causing these vocals to soundlike crap.
along side of a complete dc offset(i though we were over that)
After this i learned that when it comes to music production that if you dont have a teady income or a ability to make fast cash you will not have good quallity, so for now i am waiting on my RME and have decided to stop trying to build houses outa lego's and get the wood ha
there is so much gear out there that isput out as a way for a larger ompany to make money,.......they know damn well those 300 firewire interface do not produce a pro sound with plenty of head room,,,,blah
