radio=mp3's

does anyone know if radio stations use mp3's? the other day i happen to have jackson browne's running on empty in the car cd player as it was being played on the radio. just out of curiosty i switched back and forth between the cd and radio and was amazed at how bad the radio sounded. everything was squashed and midrangey. it would make sense as all the radio stationed would need was a couple of computers hooked up and they could queue up songs for the next ten years.

I have a friend that works for a Clear Channel station out here and he uses a lot of mp3's on his show.

I'd think something like Jackson Browne would be on a hard drive in an uncompressed format, though (there aren't a whole lot of live DJ's playing CD's anymore). But the amount of limiting they use on most rock stations sounds makes the music sound like Hooey. To me, anyway. IMHO. YMMV. TWBCAP.
