| ...yeah, that's not just a business thing either. I've had corporate day jobs forever and it's just f-ing rude...no, it would be non-existent, to make anyone wait for 5 hours for a scheduled meeting. It would take all of about 7 seconds to ask the call to wait a second, walk to the door, shake his hand and say I'm sorry, something came up, let's reschedule. Or, it would take about 3 seconds to email your secretary while you're on the call to tell him that you'll have to reschedule. What a prick. m |

| I would say the little secretary didn't even bother to tell the guy that he had someone waiting. She was probably too wrapped up in her AIM conversation. I would've walked right in.

| I turned a talented young friend of mine on to a local BIG publisher through someone else I knew. This artist already had a well done CD and of course owned all her material outright. While it's true that he could have helped her greatly through the people he knew, he also wanted 70% publishing and of course wanted her to re-record everything so he would own the masters. She's still a poor struggling artist, but she still has her self respect.

| Lives for gear | Yea, the music blows. This kid will probably go nowhere, but it's a shame because he apparently has worked hard and there's a bunch of people kissing his ass. What they won't tell him is that in 3 years this music will be as outdated as late 90's rap-metal. But yea, that president is a prick. I'm almost glad that no one is is buying their shitty CDs anymore. Ok, no I'm not, but he still deserves for his company to fail. |

| Just another cookie out of the big machine. I feel bad for the guy (not that that made me watch much past the secretary saying it was 6 pm)... here he does everything "right" and gives the honchos the kind of manicured, heavily processed "rock" that system thinks it thrives on and... ... that said... truly boring product... PS... I don't think we have to wait for this music to sound outdated... and now I'm back to some pretty timeless Louvin Brothers...

| Actually, I think you have to write about 15 minutes into the future. I don't think most execs would know tomorrow's music if it hit them in the face with a dead fish. |

Could have fooled me especially if you take into consideration that music from majors has sounded about the same for the last 10 years or so.... Oh and I am pretty sure this dude is "signed" he is just getting the same jerk off from the labels that most people do.

| "It's not Desmond, I just have no desire to co-write, whatsoever" fuuck This kid plays with Avril for 3 years, a couple groupies tell him he should go solo, and the whole experience went to his head. This kid's career is over before it began, and he only has himself to blame. If I was the president I would have had my secretary **** with him too. I wonder how long it will be until he regrets quitting Avril Incorporated? When Howard Benson or Desmond Child are working to help you write a pop song, and you're a little poppy teenboi, why the **** would would try to go against the grain? This guy not only played for Avril, he's suffering from the same "I'm not pop, I'm punk-rock" hallucinations she used to. At least now she acts like the pop-starlet she is and not a rock-goddess. WB is a shithole record label. Just ask Mr. Bungle. |

| I hate this shit. So ****ing cookie cutter, what's his biggest influence? Lifehouse? Perhaps that works synergistically with his STYLIST's biggest influence. Very important, you know? |

| I love how he tried to get the apartment Rick James died in. The session with Desmond was interesting, tho. " Hey, I've had a great life... you're that kinda guy, you're not a misfit" - I love it!

Thread Starter | Amazing how you try to make me look bad in order to save face. IF you would have REALLY watched the video you wouldve NOT posted "Why cant he get signed?". The video clearly shows him at his record label. |

| Man, you really have to have your guard up with Record companies. Go somewhere where they treat you with respect and you give it back. If they are kissing your ass or the other way around, you are not at the right place. Find the right relationship where you can thrive. My old band Signed a 3 album deal with a Indie label only after 5 months of negotiation with a Entertainment lawyer we hired.. If you are worth it to them, they will bend... We ended up owning half the publishing rites and 16% net on each album, I believe.. What if we didnt hire a Lawyer and just signed the first thing put in front of us?? Fact is, your are going to get bent over by a Record Company..... its just how far, how long and if you let them decide to use vaseline or not..

The video clearly shows him bitching around about everything.. The video clearly shows that he is on of those emo kids who pass their lifes scratching their heads. The video clearly shows that he can`t sing, compose, play, and that all he wants is a pop band so he can get money and chicks. Dude... Shut up. | |
