A Melbourne question

I know that this isn't really something to moan about, but Jules doesn't have a forum named "Nothing to do with music"

Here's the situation; my dad and his wife are planning on a trip to Australia and New Zealand next May and June of 2003. My family lived there in 1963-1965, in Geelong, Torquay, and Altona, and dad thinks that he might want to fly down to Melbourne from Brisbane (where he's attending a Rotary Club convention) to see the house we lived in in Altona (I don't know why - parents have different priorities than normal people).

So my question for those of you in and around Melbourne is this: is there any way to find out if there's still a house at 99 Queen Street in Altona? I remember talking to someone who told me how much that area has been built up since the mid 60's (And I believe that it was on this forum), so in an ideal world, you might either know the street or simply be more or less in the area and could go and check it out on the way to the beach.

I ask because if that house is not there anymore, dad won't spend the money to fly down on one of his few free days.

I'd be grateful for any information.

Dave,

See what I can do?
I do not know if any other sluts live that side of the city.
Should be able to take a few digital snaps and send them to you.
Unless they catch me as a peeping tom, so outside snaps only.
See what I can do Friday, or I am off to the NZ for a few weeks and so it will have to wait till I return.
Unless someone is on that side of the bridge.

Put the files up off my server.
Let me know when you grab them so I clean up the space.

A few pics(thumbnailed) and small movie file fom the camera.

Let me know if you have any probs, I gather it is the same place as it does not look real new...

Thanks, Dave - I've grabbed them and e-mailed them on to Dad - he's also very grateful (though I don't really know if the fact that the house is still there means that he still wants to go to Melbourne, or if these pictures mean that he doesn't have to go now...)

Happy to help, hopefully it is the same place.
Was not too much of a hassle. Get a lot of info here from you guys.
I will leave the pics there to I get back from NZ incase you loose them.

Nah, you can clean them off your server whener you need to; it IS the same house (I remember, now that I've seen it, the wall around the front yard), and they're on my computer and my dad's.

cool, I cleaned up some space for new studio MP3's a few months back, now I just have to encode some. rollz
Some of the tracks up there are from my VST days 3-4 years ago.
