Hi, My name is AJ , Im from Brazil and i was wondering if maybe you can help me with some questions about the SSL AWS 900.
I own a small studio in brazil and I`ve been dreaming about this board ever since they came up with it. My problem, as u might already guess, is that I`m stuck here and there`s nowhere I can go and actually see the board or anything like that. So I have to rely on other people`s opinions and advice.
I do go to LA once a year, but I`m always in a rush, so I wanted to see if I can gather as much information about it before I can take the leap and buy this board.
I read on your comments here that there`s plenty of places one can buy used ones? I only know Vintage King. Where else could I be looking for one?
Also, It`s gonna be a lot of money for me, so I`m looking to buy the very first models without any of the bells and whistles, like awsomation and total recall. So My question is: Would I be able to live without it? Or should I hold off a little longer untill I get the money to buy the whole thing?
What exactly is awsomation? can u automate everything on the board? like effect sends and eqs and everything? or is it just the moving faders? do u know if the original boards have moving faders?
Im sorry to bombard you with all these questions, but it will be very valuable for me to hear your opinion if you can be kind enough to answer me.
