    hey there, Ray...
sorry, but I'll have to bother you.. e

I've been reading your posts about the Profire 2626 for some weeks. I just got mine today, but I'm having many problems.

Started when I instaled it and opened my PTMP (just bought the 7.4 and download ed the CS5 update) and it wouldn't let me open sessions with samplerates above 44.1KHz. I'm using the latest driver from M-Audio's website (Driver for Win Xp Sp2).
Then I tried on my other Windows (same computer).
Listening music, watching DVDs, there's no problem (just some very fast clicks sometimes). Tried opening Cubase SX3, Vegas 8 and SoundForge 7... No problem with samplerates, but I can't record anything.
I pluged my guitar to do a test and when I'm listening only through the Profire's Mixer only, it sound's great.but when I mute it and listen through Cubase or GTR3 (standalone), it sounds terrible, with noises and distortions.

    I'm using:
    OS - Windows XP SP2
    Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3
Processor - Intel Dual Core 1.8 (overclocked to 3.0)
Firewire PCI Card - shipset VIA VT6306 (don't know if it's 100% OK.. got from a friend.. mine is coming from ebay)

Got any idea where could be my problem?? Could it be firewire problem???

Thanks for your time... Sorry again for bothering..

    Cheers

I've got a couple questions for you on an m-audio solution for my studio.

My setup right now is a dual core mac pro tower, logic 8 and a metric halo 2882+ and an rme adat converter....

I'm a recent ship jumper from protools and have had my eyes on the profire lightbridge as a way to keep PTle on as an option. I've heard there are quite a few "buggy" issues with the lightbridge?

I've got to ask since I've been sifting through a bag of logic bugs and want to avoid as much of these headaches as possible.

So for a guy who doesn't need preamps am I better off stability and Sonic-wise going with the 2626 or the lightbridge?

    thanks

    zack
