    Greetings Sir.

Just a quick question in relation to the thread on converters (top five of high, med, low).

I see you put the SADiE slither in the top bracket.

I did record an opera last year with some but it was far from ideal conditions and the MD wanted the recording scrapped. A couple of days ago, however, I borrowed a mic/line card for my LRX2 and spent a little longer having a better listen to what was coming in. Admittedly I was using the inbuilt pres, which didn't always light my fire previously, but this card seemed pretty good.

Any comments you can add good sir?

Other than that, I trust you are well and happy.

    Cheers,

    Haig

    Hello plush,
My name is Guillermo Piccolini. I live in Madrid and starting to use tape again, but this time in a more professional way (I hope!!!). I have a Telefunken M15 with 1/4 butterfly heads which runs @15ips. I intent to use it to record my analog mixes (digital recording). It has came back to life recently and the tape has not arrived yet. I tried with old basf 911 (used) and it sounds incredible. But Iīm curious if I should go with 900... and some people told me to go with PER528..(!!!) . As Youīre the author of the (IMHO) most interesting posts Iīve found in the web about tape, I decided to ask you if thereīs something really better with 900 other than the extra 3db. Some people say that they prefer 911 because 900 distorts in highs if you push it and if you donīt push it you loose the extra 3db... So I decided to try to take a minute from you with this question; here in madrid tape seems a lost science... I have to learn everything myself. (Iīm also curious about your recording speed, but thatīs a lot more advanced.)
    Thanks for your time.
    Guillermo
