Hey man, when I tried it on guitar it was positioned about 3-4 inches of the grill of the cabinet and slightly off the cone. It was alright sounding, but this was a high gain thick guitar sound. It just had too much sizzle in the high end. I've read that a dragonfly sounds really great for clean guitars in a similar positioning. I mainly use it for drums and vocals. Its weird though, sometimes it sounds ****ing sweet on vocals and then others it's just there. But I dig it because if the vocals are a little too aggressive, all you have to do is rotate that capsule a bit to tame things up! I hope this helps, best of luck!

Hey yo, I just read your dragonfly review. I'm in the same position, the mic just came up on craigslist for 400. So when you recorded a guitar cab, how did you have the mic positioned? As I'd be using this mic primarily for guitar cab and vocals...
