    Hi,

yes, there's a night-and-day difference between the 2 but not for the worst or the best. they are 2 different sounding compressors. i found the TLA50 to be excellent on bass and very often vocals but that's about all. the germs are like a new breed of Distressors, super versatile you can go pretty far with them in your sound shaping.

if i was you, i would opt for the germs, as o said more versatile whereas the Summit is more limited (to my ears) in the material wich it can treat (but i treats it well).

hope it helps a bit! :-)
