I'm Roman from Auckland. I read a thread where you said you got a 2 track tape machine from trademe. Yep I wanna do the same for my DAW recordings of hip hop, reggae and other funky stuff.
I saw a really nice looking tape machine last week called akai gx636. Looked really good condition. The german place he bought it from refurbishes old tape machines etc. They have them on their site for 1500 to 2500euros. Good god. That's five grand for a 2 track.
How's your tape machine sounding. I want to get a nice one from rademe when I have a spare thousand dollars.
Actually I would like a quality 8 track to bounce these DAW elements:
Bass drum
Bass
Stereo Vocals
Stereo Instruments
Stereo drums minus the bass drum
Then I could vary the saturation.
Hmm, maybe then I'll get the fatness I want.
