It's babydaddymusic here in Nashville. I am trying to get an acoustic sound similar to Coldplay "Don't Panic" and Greg Laswell "Around the Bend". Playing around with RNLA and RNC, different mics and placements, and a Waves CLA 1176, I started to think that maybe a Mohog 1176 might really help shave off some transients. Then I noticed in a thread you mentioned that the 1176 type compressor might be worth getting purely for recording acoustic guitars (guy was considering LA-3A and 2-A.

Could you elaborate on why you like the 1176 for recording, and tell me that the mic and guitar had more to do with that sound than compression (ahaha)
