Jamz I had a pair of Linn 9000s with full custom mods done by the Forat Bros. However, this was back in the 80s. Big and heavy they were. Eprom based. Forat installed very limited sampling capabilities. Back then when Roger Linn owned the company the machines had PSU issues. I'm sure that's been corrected. They also had a nasty habit of freezing up at the worst times. I'm guessing that's been corrected as well. Not sure what they're running these days. Not sure what kind of music you're doing. There are many records from that period where I used the 9000. Mostly RnB i.e. Regina Bell, Mikki Howard, Maybe Strawberry Moon by Grover Washington Jr. Too long to recall LOL!
I did sell them when the MPC60 came around. Sold those when the MP3000 came out. I ended up with 3 MPC3000. Sold 2 of those. My MPC3000 currently collects dust. Live drums, BFD & DKFH have taken over. They were a head of the game back then. You paid a price n every level for being on the cutting edge. Would not be in any hurry to invest in one these days. Too many viable options that incorporate more up to date technology.
