Is this MIDI or audio files we are talking about because you can only crossfade on audio files. And an audio file is whatever tempo it was recorded at, regardless of what Logic thinks the tempo of the project is. If it is MIDI, build a tempo track either in the Global Tempo track or in the Tempo List.
If these are audio files and you want Logic to have its metronome mirror the tempi the files were recorded at then you will have to use Beat Mapping.

Hi Ashermusic,
Would you please be able to help with a Logic 7 question?
I have recorded a midi piano on different tracks, all recorded at different BPM's. i.e. 40 secs of piano piece 1 on track 1 at 40 bpm, then at 41 seconds piano 2 starts on track 2 at 70 bpm, etc.
I now want to cross-fade between these tracks, but realise I can only have one BPM selected.
How do I maintain the 40 and 70 bpm and do the cross-fade?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Rossco.
