There really are no cheap ways to get killer A to D or D to A conversion!
The other important factor is how you get in and out digitally, from your computers.
AES connection via a Lynx card (AES 16 or L22) is pretty much always better than any other FW etc, connection.
You maybe best off starting with an L22, if your puter has a conventional PCI slot.
That card has AES in and out and it also has some reasonable analog, two in's two out's.
When you can afford Lavry's or Prisms, you can connect them, via AES, using this card, so you can build on it.
The L22 is only available as a PCI card.
Lynx have no plans to make a PCIe version.
The AES 16 card is available for both slots types, but has no converters.
    It's just AES.

    Hope this helps

Hi there. I would love to get some of your expertise on some affordable a/d d/a 2channel converters.
