    Kirk,
I just had to say your post about the inline 80B..Brought tears to my eye,s! Thanks!!!I was just laughing so hard..reading your responses to yourself...:-)))) Anyway this is John guitar player in Seattle with a Trident 80B and 4 original A ranges...By the way I did try some chips in the stereo buss from Jim Williams..They did sound good..But I did not actually do any mods..But my new tech (who has worked at Oceanway, vintage king London Brideg up here in Seattle)etc....) we are putting in a John Hardy 990 stereo buss designed by Bruce Seifeld (evil twin bass di guy)..He sent me the schematics...so I am excited to try out...doing it nice and clean so If I dont like it I will switch back....PS what where those toggles on your fader plates again? I will let you know how the new stereo buss sounds....My early 80B has all of the BD series transistors....so not sure how much of a difference I will here..But i do really heavy guitar stuff..so we will see.....Hope all is well...

    Kbshearer,

I'm very excited right now as I've just discovered that you were involved with the Tony Toni Tone album "Sons of Soul". I'm DESPERATE to find out all the ingredients of that super sweet electric guitar tone on Anniversary. Most guitars do not sound that delicious and that's the sound I live for. So, why does it sound so much sweeter than other guitar? I've heard it was a tele but but I've played teles before and they didn't have that sound. So what are the other ingredients? Pickups? Pickups are the only other thing I can think of that would affect tone that much. I got fender SCN pickups on my strat hoping I'd get close to that smooth sound but they didn't quite do it.

Your help is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you,

    Eoin

Hi Kbshearer, I would like to make a question.
I´ve a TAC Blue 16-8-2 that buy two weeks ago to a friend and other person want make change.
Mi TAC Blue to his TAC Scorpion.
The electronic architecture of the Blue I have understood it better, but sonically the Scorpion is better, less noisy and also can modify it the preamp.
Do you see recommended this change, it is worth changing my Blue by TAC Scorpion?
