    Hi Ethan,
you gave me some advise on room acoustic the other day. Now would like to ask you a question concerning qrd diffusor. I am building a couple of them right now. MY question is. Do the panels have to fill the depth behind them or is it ok if i use wood sheets place them so the front is at the right spott and bihind the sheet i put fubreglas for example? From what i know i reckon it is better if the sheets are as deep as the panel. But they gonna be very heavy and i need to hang them on plasterboard-walls with woodpanels behind. Ok I hope it is ok to contact you like this. If not just tell me. But from what I saw on the net. I figuered asking you is the quickest.
    Thanks
    Christian

    Hi Ethan,
I need someone to direct me in my health related issue. Recently, I see a lot of dust in my studio and realized that it's because of my bass straps, which hanged from the ceiling. I got an air purifier, but don't think it's enough because I can still smell them.

Do you recommend to open the traps and wrap the rockwools in thin foams? Or use kind of hair spray to seal the down face of the traps where the dusts might fall from?
    Your help is so appreciated

    Hi Ethan,

I have a quick question for you. I have invested into good recording gear. Also, I treated my room with foam (diffusion and bass traps) on all sides and ceiling. Floor is carpet. My recordings sound very boomy. I know you cannot give detailed analysis but in general is it possible that too much absorption is causing the recordings to sound bass heavy and boomy ? Also have a feeling that it sounds slightly distorted, not really noticeable but feels like. Not sure if that makes sense. I thought of buying different gear but have the feeling it is my room causing this. I have found you and thought I would check what your thoughts are. I am willing to invest in your material which seems to work pretty good from what I read by would like to get a fair assessment of my problem first to make sure I invest in the right areas.

    thanks
    Michael

Hi Ethan! I used Your chart for my control room. The only problem is if I place the speakers 50% from the center of my desk, the back of the speaker will be right up against my wall. I do have treatment on the front wall, but my speakers are rear ported. Dynaudio BM5A. Any thoughts on what might work best? Thank you

Aloha Ehtan. I posted a thread about my mixing room and some bass traps I was curious if you could respond to. I love all your input and am wondering what you think about this. I am going to add more to it for more in information.

Hi Ethan. I was wondering if having the tweeter at the vertical center of the room is a must?
