    Hi

I was wondering if you could give me some advice about my Pre-73 mod. They have changed the stock Output transformers so that now they come with no capacitors or resistors.

I'm confused about what types i need for my Carnhil transformer. I gather I need a 1.5k ohm resistor and a 10nF capacitor, but there seem to be a lot of different types. For example what power rating do they need to be? and are there types that are better than others?

You seem to be quite knowledgable about this, and I could really use the help, so I hope you don't mind me asking.

    Thanks

    Tom

Hi API, Thaks for passing on the info for the Carnhill transformers, I am going to order some, however I read one of your posts that mentioned something about a frequency limiting device that should be removed if putting good transformers in. Is this an easy job? Or how can I get someone to do it for me if not? Thanks, Quentin.

    Hi!

I noticed your question about EMI limiters. I don't have any and i have only tried Chandler copy of TG1 (which is bad imo). But i just started to collect material to build (i'm doing lots of diy) TG1. When it's done i can send you some recorded material, i think it will not take more than 2-3 months to finish it..
Since i like EMI, i built their Redd47 mic pres which are really really good. Try them if you can, i don't think they are hard to find since transformers became available.

Btw, if you are searching info about EMI comps or any other gear they made contact this guy:
    http://www.bavodekker.com/equip.html
He is specialized in vintage gear and had some EMI consoles on sale (still have one).

If you find any samples between EMI tube&transistor comp or maybe want to talk about EMI, contact me at miha.sakel@gmail.com

    Regards from Miha
