It wasn't so much farty as fizzy. A fizzy sound in the decay which started once it hit the breaking up level and slowly got longer until at very high gain the decay of the actual sound was long enough to almost mask it again. So it was at it's worst at moderate breakup, where the sound would decay fast, leaving the fizz very apparent.

Apparently it's just part of the sound of that sort of design I guess, and of other amps since I heard it in other amps as well, including more expensive ones. Whether you notice it probably has a lot to do with the particular way you drive the amp.

Interestingly, I have exactly the same thing with a Blackfinger compressor pedal I have.

hello Dean, I read about the "farty sound" you had with the vox nightrain, I had exactly the same problem with my AC15C1, did you sort it out?
