Hello, my brother got me an MXL 990XL for my birthday. I can't find any information about it reviews. Can you tell me about it?

Hi there.

If you look on the bottom of the mic, there is a big nut around the XLR connector. Remove that and the mic will open up to give you access to the inside. The Whole top of the mic will slide off.

Where in the UK are you? I lived in Sunny Margate before micrating out here to Calif.

Hi Roy,

I work with a close harmony vocal group in the UK called The Pink Champagne Sisters who all use MXL V900 mics. One of the mics them has developed an intermittent fault which could be a dry joint on the XLR input. I was wondering if you had a repair sheet/diagram that you can release that would show how to open the mic without causing any physical damage. I have attached a photo of the girls in action, and a link to a video, all of which have the V900 very prominent.
