    Haven't really continued the search. I like the 545 but I prefer my normal, modern SM57 in every way honestly. The 545 definitely has a more lo fi sound to it.

    Hi, Saw your post about the Shure 545 mic ... did you ever find a vintage one to compare to your newer 'made in mexico' model? I just found a newer one too and was wondering if i should pursue getting a vintage one.
