I also already have a 525 compressor which is great for acoustic but suited towards electric I think

Hey, I just saw that you're from Quincy. I'm from Braintree and will be back for Christmas. We should talk. What do you do audio-wise?

Hi Adam, thanks for adding me here...
having a good summer. I'd decided to stay in town more since Feb., and try to concentrate on the studio more. June was pretty good. And July also, so far. I like the work. I've got a lot to learn, but the shoe seems to fit. How are you doing?

-Hey, I've got a question for you that I am asking all the people I consider masters of the art and craft: When mixing, how do you get it right the first time? Esp. vocal balance, or balance of main focus element (like sax solo) in instrumental music? It takes me days now, and many re-considerations...
    Peace and love!

Hey Adam, just wondering. How 'neve' sounding is the m581. I have a 512, but feel like I want more color. Is the 581 'slower'? Where does the meat and potatoes of this pre lie in your opinion? How would it sound on vocals, guitars and on stereo room mics with solid state LDC's? Hoping to get some answers before I bite.

Hey sorry to bother you but from your posts you seems to have a great deal of knowledge with the Lynx converters. I was doing my first drum session with my Lynx Aurora 16 with an LT-HD card. Going through an API makeshift 500 series pre using an SM57 on a well tuned snare with the 20db pad on and the pre turned all the way down the level was very hot. Leaving me very little headroom for eq. The guys at Avedis Audio had mentioned that it sounded like my converters might have been in -10 mode instead of +4. Yesterday I spoke with Paul at Lynx Studio and he ran me through my hardware setup and as I thought it was actually in +4 mode.

I'll be honest here. As technical as I can get I'm more of a button pusher/knob turner with engineering. Can you suggest and level tests I can do to see whats going on if anything with my set up? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Keith Moore
