RE the 2 preamps, I've used the Robbie, and whilst I think it's a great clean preamp with lots of gain, it's not the most colourful preamp available - in fact, I believe Blue developed it to be as transparent as possible whilst testing their mics, only later making it available for sale.

I wouldn't think of it as a coloured, "tube" sounding preamp.

The ISA One I also think of as being a very clean preamp. But genuinely, I don't think you could go wrong with either of these. The ISA is probably more flexible too, so I'd be inclined to start there. I've not used the ISA One, but I have used other ISA preamps, and they're also quality pieces.
