Mm, it's not a starved plate but you get the idea - you can get the voltage starved circuit effect.

Thanks for the info, it mostly reinforces what I already know but the more of that I see the better. I'm still waiting on my caps, and I've since realized I need a DPDT so the build is being postponed..again. Still, modified an old M268 and have done half the repairs required to a butchered Fuzz Factory a freind gave me.. Not a bad day!

No bother. From what I remember a HFE of about 60 was what I saw, which is pretty close. Again leakage is a factor, so it's hard to say unless you had the 2 infront of you.

That's cool. I'm waiting on some caps before I start soldering this thing in, anyway!

What diodes are you using? Are you going to add a Voltage Starve like on the Germanium 4 Big Muff? It sounded pretty cool to me, but so does the bias knob. The volt starve thing can be simulated with a 10k pot between the power supply and the rest of the circuit.

Send on whatever specs you have, I've several schematics and a few forumite buddies who have built it but the more resources the better. My Transistor HFE's will have to do, however - I picked through a batch of AC128's at my University and I took the 2 with the lowest HFE home. Hopefully that'll do. I'm wary of buying online as most batchs of NoS have been picked clean of useful parts!
