It depends on what kind of virtual instruments you play.

    Hi, my name is Lino

i was looking online for some info in order to get an idea on the best setting for my next purchase, and i saw that you are a Logic specialist =)
so, i took the freedom to contact you with a few questions..
    hope you don't mind =)

ok, i'm now running Logic Pro9 on a CoreDuo iMac (..old machine, i know) and it's really suffering when it's mixing time.. it crashes a lot and i can't afford that during a session w/ clients in the room.. uh uh =/
i run a lot of Virtual Instruments and MIDI tracks as well so, my sessions are heavy and demanding.
now, i'm gonna get a tower Mac for sure but my question is:
what would be best between a quad-core with more ram (let's say 16 gig)
    OR
    a 8-core with 8 gig ram?

i tried to look online and find the answer myself ..but the more i look the more confused i get.

i hope you can help me out - THANX A LOAD!!

    Lino

    =)
