Hi, I'm a sound designer & composer. I recently joined gearslutz, and am interested in posting on the Mastering forum. I see I don't have permission -- what's required?

    Thanks,
    Noah

I'm assuming someone deleted Lucey's thread about Pono hi-res, etc. including my "science vs deity" post? Some good spirited debate there between JJ and RubbaDub. Best, JT

    Riccardo:

My most recent post to http://www.gearslutz.com/board/maste...23-lufs-2.html was deleted for what i don't know.

I was agreeing with what Kosmokrator said about being more diplomatic, and then went on to state my motives. I had mentioned my concerns about how music of the past century would be perceived by future listeners - either in original form or as compressed remasters.

That post of mine was gentler in nature, suggesting who we should complain to instead of the engineers, who are just providing a service.

I really feel like Gearslutz and Steve Hoffman Forums are trying to suppress dialogue about loudness in music. It's a real issue which even the most casual listeners have detected, and combatting it takes effort from all sides - the musicians, the engineers, and the listeners who pay to buy it.

Scragg's reactions my posts not have resulted in the censoring of my reply in that instance.

I expect a Nobel prize to someday be awarded to an audiophile cable designer, as they clearly are way ahead of the rest of us.
