Hey man! I just read your posts on the Safe Sound Audio 500 stereo toolbox, Xpressor and the Obsidian and I have to thank you for doing that! I am new to recording but I've been making beats for some time now, and your in depth response forced me into getting an account with gear slutz! haha, anyways, you seem like the guy to ask a decent question... Because I'm in the same boat as you in terms of minimizing the 500 selection - I'm gonna go by the same principle and stick to a 6 slot chassis. With that said, does a single slot stereo-buss compressor exist?? Because I can only find 2 slot stereo master compressors (SS ST, Vandergraph, Obsidian), but it would be so sweet to find a single channel one. But I don't know if thats even possible, I mean maybe a stereo bus compressor needs two channels as requisites for internal processes??

    Hi there
Read your post and I might be in the same boat as you soon. Going from mr816 to a mytek with FireWire. Did you even sort out latency issues you were having with the mytek? Curious what kind of latency times you had and what kind of computer you had to run this on?
Ideally I can I can use the analog in and once mytek releases updated firmware I can add an additional 8 channel via the aes port out to FireWire unit. But I need this for multi tracking so latency has to be at least manageable. I'll mainly be itb and not doing any looping out to sends and return.

Hope it's working out for. That's a lot of money to blow away.

Hope it worked out for you

Never listen to opinions regarding gear. For every 50 nobodies on Gearslutz that say a piece of gear doesn't sound good enough to cut it, I know at least one somebody who is cutting it in NYC with that piece of gear.
