    I'm also a reggae fan and audiofreak for decades and collect info about jamaican studio's from early on (King Edward, Studio 1/Downbeat, Treasure Isle, Beverly's) till now. After years of reading about reggae and studio stuff, you can also make links and recognise equipment that noobs on on of the 2 subjects don't make.

    And about the most famous producers (like Lee Perry or King Tubby or Coxonne Dodd or Leslie Kong or the many others), most of their setup is common knowledge among reggae inspired engineers. If you search a bit, especially on dub producers sites, you'll find tons of info.... The setup and how it was used has a big impact on how the reggae from that studio sounds, more than in almost any other musicstyle.
