Hi Muser,

I've been surfing threads about Redmatica Keymap Pro, as I'm on a mad mission to get the software. As you may well know the whole thing has been discontinued all together now from Apple's App store. There is no way of getting the software any more and there isn't anything that comes close to this brilliant piece of software on the market.

I was wondering if you could share your copy with me and of course for the financial rewards. Sorry if I'm being too upfront, but i'm just too frustrated at this point with my search.

errm. maybe it communicates via makie HUI protocol ? I'm not exactly sure.
make a post about it. HUI is a standard for a lot of things. it can send text back
and forth in the protocol. is why it might be a good candidate.

Hi..I just got the Tranzport to work with Samplitude 10.2 on XP ( I will upgrade to PRO X soon) It works, however I cannot see any info on the LED screen. It works as it shows the battery life. Everything else works. Any ideas? Thanks

well, I'm not really sure about your specific issue.
but.. keeping names as short as you can is always a good policy anyhow.
also I think the Z8 uses names as signifier and not sample numbers.
e.g. it can take unlimited numbers of samples, but it may well require uniques
names in order to do that. so if you had a name which was long and only altered the last part of the name, the system might assume it's the same sample.

I guess to try that theory you could load the same sample twice.
see what happens.. it would be good to replicate your error as this might
be a bug combined with the protocol it has for sample management for names.

I do remember that if you copy a sample you can't use the same name.

As a work-around I currently just load second multi that contains the remaining programs I had to remove from the first multi, then I just set those programs up in the empty program slots in the first multi. That second multi loads just fine.


Kind of a dry question so didn't feel like watering down the nice tips and tricks thread right away. Looked on akaiproforums which is a good resource but not much going on there. If an answer arises I'll add it to the knowledgebase.

When making samples I realized there seems to be about a 20 char limit on filenames, so it will truncate the filename. When the filename gets truncated, then you may get a "repeated file" error when you try to save a second sample with a similar name that gets truncated in the exact same way.. Anyway, I don't think any all my filenames are 20 chars or less, and there are no repeated files as far as I can tell.

Do you know what may cause a multi not to be able to load with dependents / samples and programs? I notice in Aksys it would not even attempt to load that multi with dependents, whereas from the Z8 front panel it would load to a certain point then stop.

Anyway, besides that been enjoying the Z8. Just curious if you have observed multis that would not load an have any insight as to why.

Happy 2012! I have a quick Z8 question and was wondering if you have seen this.

I recently created about 400 samples contained in about 12 programs. 1 sample per keygroup anywhere from 15-60 keygroups per program.

I saved a multi containing those 12 programs (with samples and programs in a new folder on the Z8 disk), but couldn't get it to load all the way (loading from the Z8 front panel controls). It would get to program 11 and then stop ( abort button would not work, needed to reboot). By removing some programs I got it to load, but it wasn't clear what was making the difference. It seemed that removing just one program wouldn't do it, I had to remove a few. When loading just multi and programs without samples, those 12 would load, with samples it would get stuck.
