surely it's as simple as if you can hear the difference then the cables will be of benefit. If you can't hear the difference don't bother either buying them or complaining about people that can as it just comes off as jealousy over someones hearing which is dumb.

Surely its preying on people's insecurities wrapped in PC language.

Is this cynicism or ignorance? I honestly can't tell...

Actually, I have proposed a question of whether there is an audible difference in capacitors. Does the "speed" of the dielectric matter?

To be very clear, in the case of the example I used with the blinking LED, there is one aspect of speed -- the timing of the cycle -- and another -- how quickly it is able to empty the charge or, in other words, how well the charge can move through the material.

Someone previously opposed the terminology used in "fast subwoofer". It may not be direct, but it makes sense. It is the difference between being agile and unwieldy. Imagine putting a small voice coil on a 15" double-thick paper cone. You can only give it 10 watts. How would you describe the acceleration of this cone compared to your own subwoofer? Faster? Also, in a cabinet that has a loose Qts of .7 or maybe more -- why not? -- the cone isn't very well controlled, you have a lot of resonance, the speed at which the resonance dies out can be SLOW.

Probably a subject for another thread. This isn't about cables any more, and with a few years a 400 replies, this thread has probably run its course. Feel free to start a new thread with one of these tangent subjects if you'd like. Thanks.
