Thread Starter Verified Member | How to get new customers?
Hello all, This is my first post on this beautyfull forum but certainly not the last! I run, besides my DJ'ing and producing a small (so far) digitally based masteringstudio and have quite a lot happy customers now, national and international, mainly in the dance industry. I know i deliver quality (i'm into audio for a real long time) and the customers i have are really satisfied with the result.. Ofcourse i'm trying to get more customers and found some way's by mailings and mouth to mouth but i was wondering how you guys get in contact (and stay in contact) with potential new customers and how to pull 'm over the line to get their mastering done at your studio. I'm sure there are some new masteringcompanies hanging out there with the same problem. Cheers, Jeffrey Da Goose Music (the netherlands) |

Word of mouth and credits certainly are an enormous help, as has been said above. Some traditional marketing methods can also work to a certain extent, like targeted direct mail; but they tend to have limited response and get you one-time jobs, lower end work, and a plenty of tire kickers that don't follow through. Still, I wouldn't avoid traditional marketing, if only for name recognition that will reinforce word of mouth. The other part of the puzzle is personal networking. A lot of people may know of your existence from the above methods, but until you meet them out at a club, or at a party or other event, they might not think to call. The personal connection helps, and even if they don't need your service, they may tell a friend, and personal recommendations are quite valuabe. It all starts with a handshake... |
