basic assembly for PC

I've done some searching but I'd like to know what options there are for PC based mastering software which will allow me to do basic assembly, PQ code editing and some fades. I don't need all the bells and whistles of limiters and EQ, just assembly of the final sequence for a Red Book master.
If you all think something like Peak is the best and most straightforward app for this, I'm not opposed to getting that for my G4, but if not I'd like to keep it in the PC world.

Thanks for the help.

About the best (cost efficient) application there is from editing to Red Book is Sony's Sound Forge 8/CD Architect 5.

The minimum I would recommend is Wavelab. I know it does a lot more, but its data integrity is very high and it is very reliable.
