Massive passive or vari mu with a rnd mbp

I use the Rupert neve mix buss compressor on my mix buss.
But sometimes I like what the tube warmth does to the mix.
Takes the digital out of the sound.
I also use a manley mini massive on my mix buss.
I was thinking of either purchasing a massive passive to add to my
Mbp for warmth and eq or the vari mu for it's nice buttery tone.
Alot if people use the vari mu with the Mbp as it compliments it.
Any advice what would be a good addition?
Only outboard eq is my mini massive and clariphonic.

If I was in your shoes, I'd buy a Massive Passive and sell the Mini and Clariphonic and use that money to by my Vari-Mu so I can use that money to buy a MPB.

I did recently a mastering job and I rented pro mastering studio. There was a Massive Passive, a Bax and a Vari Mu.

Both Manleys interacted nicely, but then I tried the Bax and finally Waves VEQ4 through Vari Mu... Always there was this awesome midrange, and no sharp digital edge. None.

IMHO the Vari Mu alone does the trick, more than the EQ used. So I'd say I'd only keep the Vari Mu; if I need to sell gear, I'd sell the EQs (well anyway they aren't mine, are studio's)
