Another first for me, CD authoring.

I finally made a CD with 98 tracks on it. It was all radio spots that needed to be dumped from 1/4" tape to CD. If I hadn't caught some redundancies, I would have needed to make two CDs even though there's less than an hour of material.

Why not use track indexes, you can put 99 index markers within each track. That means 99x99 = 9801 search points for each CD.

Oh, I forgot, I have not seen a player with index search function since eighties...

Which CD mastering software actually can make indexes, it would be fun to go Hi-Fi on the next disk?

Sadie, Pyramix, Sonic, probably most of them!

I've never done it though. I have never noticed them on a CD, either.

It's a while since I've seen this, but it wasn't uncommon for early classical CDs to have things like individual concerto movements indexed within a single track. I believe some older SFX CDs may have used them too.
