Thank you!

I usually sweep very slowly when using the high pass filter anyway so it doesn't matter if the plugin cannot respond to very quick automations but it is very important that it goes up to 20kHz.

Newbie question: will this work in Samplitude?

EDIT: switched brain on and realised I could just use it as a vst...

It sounds really good. I'm amazed, since I thought the native Samplitude EQ was fine.

Thanks

Andrew

Could it be possible to authorize the Air EQ using an iLok in the future if the TDM version will also use iLok authorization? The Air EQ will be my only plugin which requires a syncrosoft dongle. How about transfering the license from syncrosoft dongle to iLok?

After a rather lengthy examination, I'm climbing aboard the group buy.

Compared it against Equim, Hydratone, and the Waves SSL pack, and to my ears, I think the only one that came close to handling the transients as well as the Air was the Waves, and then it became more a matter of dealers choice, not that either particularly fell short.

Not sure I'm going to find much use for the "air" control for the top end, but I'm pretty darn happy with the way it seems to bring out the meat of the low end, and I've found a few tracks, at least, where it absolutely rocked at revealing qualities of guitar mids that nothing else quite seemed to do.

No doubt, excellent hardware will cordially blow it out of the water, but for an ITB tool, here in late 2006, it pretty much excels, to my ears at least.

Cheers all.

LOL. Yes, and we already had some very positive feedback from Samplitude users. Thanks for your comments !

Yes, for sure. I believe that will never charge for any update, as we did for the AirEQ Universal Binary version, new features or other enhancements we will also release.
I know that some companies will charge for some OS updates, but we will not. And trust me, even is it will take some time to implement all the requested features and ideas that we had, we will keep on updating our products !
I can't wait to know what people think about the L/R mode in AirEQ..

Yes, as I already said somewhere, we will release a TDM version which will use iLok. As many TDM plugins, this version will be slightly more expensive, due to the development costs which are higher, but for the customers who already own the native version, we will offer a great deal to get the TDM version at a very reduced price.

It is not possible to transfert a licence from Syncrosoft to iLok, so you will get two licences, one for Native, another for TDM.

I guess I already understood that part earlier but do you also mean that the native version of air eq can never be authorized using an iLok altough the TDM version will use iLok? So the TDM version of Air EQ will use the iLok but all native versions will always use syncrosoft?

Like I said the air eq will be my only plugin which needs a syncrosoft dongle so I would be more than happy if I could use an iLok for the air eq native audio unit version. All my other plugins are authorized using iLok and none of them are TDM versions for pro tools because I don't use PT. I will of course authorize the air eq to the syncrosoft dongle which you'll send me soon but if it would be possible in the future to use an iLok to authorize the native version too, I would be very happy. We have too many dongles these days.

To my ear, AirEQ excels on the low end - punchier and rounder than the other EQs that I've been using (PSP MasterQ and PLParEQ). Also, it seems to have more texture and depth than the others. The other EQs are more forward in the mids but in a "flat" kinda way.

I think it'll be a nice addition to the toolbox. Guess I'm jumping on board...

"The group buy period will be from october 1st to october 31st".

I guess the last day of the group buy is tomorrow altough it already says "1 day left".

We still need 16 buyers more to get to the next discount level.

I know that this is a problem for those who already work with iLok, but it is not possible to release a product with Syncrosoft and iLok together, for security reasons and Non Disclosure Agreements questions.
So unfortunately, we can not release an native version of AirEQ with iLok.

The problem with some EQ algorithms is that the bass shapes are smoothed in a bad way, i.e. the lower the frequency is, the more the real resonnance is reduced. It is particularly obvious with PLParEQ in low quality settings, and when you want to add or remove a steep resonnance, you can not get the tight sub low end that a 35-40Hz steep boost would give you on a bass drum with an analog EQ.

There is also some problems with the Low Pass filter : it appears that the "0Hz" is not correctly cutted like with an analog EQ, i.e. the Low Pass filter behaves more as a Shelf filter for some settings.
These problems does not exists with AMLT filters.

Fabrice,

Just wanted to let you know I signed up for the group buy too, but couldn't find a way to pay the shipping for the dongle without the price of the software rising to about $260. So I paid the roughly $109 amount and then tried to email you from your website to make arrangements to get the dongle but the "contact us" on your site comes up without your email address so I have no way to contact you except here. Can you fix this? I'd really like to get the dongle and start using the eq.

thanx

Hmm, in fact for the moment you do not have to chose between the version with or without dongle. You will choose the one or the other at the end of the group buy, during the finalization process.

I believe that you tried to buy a full version of AirEQ..

About the contact us page, please use the contact form !
Just enter your email, your message, press "Send Message", and we will get your message immediatly !

Oh, my bad, I thought we had to elect now whether we wanted the dongle or not.
