Wavelab 7 and DDP

Hi Guys,

planning to switch to wavelab 7 to create CD masters and I wonder if you have experience creating DDP files on wavelab 7?

Can you simply create an audio montage with the track markers and cd text and then export it directly to DDP format?

If yes, is there anything lost or to be aware of, during the DDP export?

Thanks!

I use 7 exclusively for exporting DDP -- I still use 6 for anything else I'd need WL for (my "usual" is Samplitude).

In short though, yep, you can just export to DDP instead of burning a disc.

Yes, exactly the same workflow as for burning a PMCD.

Never had any problems with the DDPs of WL7.

I completely switched to Wavelav 7 some time ago. Still a strange GUI system for me, but once you made your basic layout the way you wanna work, it's perfectly OK.

Yes, creating DDP files is very straight forward with WL7. The GUI is not very appealing, but it's a tool to work with and not a computer game. It certainly does everything you need for mastering. I am not happy about the performance on a Mac (problems with 3rd party VST plug-ins), but on a PC it seems to be fine. That's no surprise, since this is the first time WaveLab has been made available for OSX.

Thaks Guys!

I'll just use it for placing track markers and entering CD text, for the audio processing I like Soundscape.

Same here.
I use PTHD for audio processing, so no problem with VST etc. for me either.
