Im currently mastering a project for the first time for vinyl. The only thing that is still unclear is the questin about compessing/limiting. Ive been using waves plus some voxengo and psp plugins, sometimes putting the tracks thru 1/4 inch stereo reel to reel.

The tracks sound good as they are but ive been able to put some spunk into them with a little eqing and some waves L3 multi and slight Rbass. I decided to first approach the song the way i usuallu do when mastering to a cd. I havent really participated in the loudness war that much so usuallu i dont squash the tracks.

Is it ok to add a little peak limiting (waves L3) or should i just use slight compression instead and use no limiting at all?

Is a little L3 limiting going to add some volume on vinyl without adding too much distortion?

I understand that making a track loud in todays terms of limiting for vinyl only adds few dbs more of distortion.
