Yes there will. As a commercial product. I've been using a prototype at work for a couple years now.

Hey, you should team up with EveAnna Manley to produce it! If Massenburg can trust her with his stuff, surely you can with yours?

I checked the files as sent. They are indeed the raw files captured through the 2500: one with stock opamps and the second with Scott's opamps. They do not null perfectly but the difference is very small.

Just giving this another bump for any other subjective impressions on the red dots, or the purple op amps in the 2500.

Thanks for checking, I'll take a listen/look again to see what I did wrong!

I'll pitch in - I took the original file down 8.58dB to match level on tones, and ran all three in sync, switching between with the solo buttons.

With the threshold at +10 I imagine there would be little or no compression occurring - I found the differences to be subtle, but for me the Red Dots sounded a hair brighter and less veiled than the stock op amps, and also more like the source. I always preferred the source, though that's probably not too surprising.

It wasn't a blind test, of course, but those differences seemed consistent to me. Nice music, BTW Greg: I didn't recognise any of it, was that something you worked on? And was the source mastered?

I agree with your assessment. Subtle but slightly in favor of Scott's opamps, at least for the music presented. The 2520s are in the part bin - for now.

The Music is Scaredy Cat Blackie*, Steve Noonan, Adem Svec and Steve Tibbetts. All but SCB done here.

That's a relief - I have the feeling others are holding back because they don't want to be caught out in some kind of early April Fool! I enjoyed your and your customers' work.
