updates on studers A80 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch

the studers A80's are getting up and running and today we received our first updated cards on the 1/2 inch RC machine, We just want to have an extra set of cards setup to a different type of tape .. Gp9 & 911 or so ...
cards are recapped/updated in the UK by Julian form East Midlands Audio, he knows his way around studers :-))
if all cards are in, the machines/cards will be aligned and setup for the specific tape , that will be end of January I hope
currentlythey're set for NAB 510/nwb on GP9 ...

The A80 RC is fully working now , there was one bad capacitor on the reprod-amp card but with my finally found local tech
we fixed that and checked all other capacitors to be well within specs.

Next week we will get a 16 channel AD/DA configuration from apogee/symphony with 2 AES slots & for test an SSL X-rack summing mixer ..
I have some test-projects coming up for stem-mixing to the 1/2 inch and master from the tape ... looking forward for that.

The A80 MKI VU, which is setup for connecting to a studer vinyl cutting system will be coming up for sale in the next year for those who are interested ....
I prefer getting a RC 1/4 inch studer ... price will be firm .. we know it's a special one ... and it is in very good condition.

it's so easy to fall in love with these machines ...

happy new year all !!!

Beautiful machines. I find my AMPEX has a rather utilitarian ugliness, but still does the job.

Great machines! Happy New Year to you with your analog sound.

p.s.--get rid of that TASCAM takeup reel!
