I'm interested in the opinion too. But this looks completely unnatural in handling (even watching at it makes me )

Mick Hinton, Mr DAV, has told me in the past that any increments can be calculated and applied as the user wishes within the framework of the available number of switchpoints.

Indeedy - and the web-site now says that the standard value is 1dB (which, admittedly, does contradict the picture).

I think DAV stuff is wonderful: the casing is ... utilitarian ... but Mick's Decca knowledge is built into everything he makes.

Cheers,

Eric

I've had a BG1 for 10 years now and it has gone on a thousand classical location recording sessions with no hiccups. Did you get this unit from Mick direct or was it the demo model from XXX - the London distributor?

If the latter, this is definitely a case where you should shoot the messenger.

Yes, I'd buy direct from DAV.

Hi Joe

How was it broken? Have you not spoken to Mick about it?

You're bang on with that one.

It's still on my radar, just sharing my disappointment at that particular occasion

Hi Dene

I don't know if you've seen this. All of DAV's equipment is from the Decca stable, so some audio intelligent ears have already listened to it.

I've tinkered around with one that was 1.5db steps. The steps bothered me, the sound is clean. I didn't spend much more then a few minutes with it, so it's not fair to judge. But for that price, I think it will do it's job.

Not a big fan of the layout and build, but it keeps the cost down.

yup well aware of that...even talked to someone from DAV a year or two ago about it. Never picked one up because there was no way for me to hear it...and just a general lack of info on this thing...
Probably gonna get the TK-lizer over this EQ anyway it seems to have everything I'm looking for... But I would still like to hear some first hand experiences with this thing...at this price range I might get one anyway.
