Just bought a pair of Emotiva subs.

They were on sale, and if the sound quality is anything like my behemoth Emotiva XPA-2 amp, I will be amazed. One thing that has me rather pumped is that they are in sealed enclosures. With class D amps the sound should be fast and tight. I'm going to try these with my Manley ML10's. Just have the subs come in where the Manley's roll off. I realize these aren't exactly JL Fathoms or anything of the sort, but if they sound decent for the money, they just might work. Here's the link:

Emotiva Ultra Series 12 Subwoofer with Studio Black Satin Lacquer Finish

I will post a detailed report soon.

Emotiva has some new Dac's for sale too, might look at them just for fun.

Hello!

I'm also interested for a pair. I also found and I'm definitely interested for those too 99 W12.18 ICE - XTZ | Sound in balance. They have received good reviews and the price is also atractive!

I'm waiting for your review so I can make my decision !

For that price I dunno why you wouldn't go with Rythmik... direct servo all the way IMO!

[Note: the above comment is biased ]

They are *awesome*, though you will have to get them shipped from the US. I paid about £1300 for the pair, including taxes/shipping, everything. Love them. LOVE them!!

Just got the subs today, triple boxed. Gorgeous satin piano black. Currently running a 0hz-200hz sweep loop at high spl. Going to let them run for a couple of days, then start playing music though them. Will report soon.

So, here's my final report on the Emotiva Ultrasub 12's. They sound really musical, with tons of headroom, and nice punch. After a very long break in period of bass sweeps, 10hz, and 20hz tones at full power (500 watts rms) the surrounds are almost fully broken in. This pair of subs now reach well below 20hz in my studio. I really like the sound of their sealed enclosures, very tight and even bass response. Are there better subs out there? Sure, but not for 2 or 3 times the price. One would have to lay down some serious scratch to find something substantially better. Emotiva does it again!

Do these subs come with built in amps?

On special now, and I see they have some more expensive DSP powered versions

Yes, they have 500 watts of class D power each, along with fully ajustable crossover, and phase compensation. XLR inputs too. The integration with my ML10 monitors is entirely seamless. One cant tell where the mains roll off, and the subs start working. This is a fantastic setup for mastering.
