Mastering with UA 6176

Hi,
I have a UA 6176, and I decided to go OTB for mastering.
What do you mastering experts think about this idea, to overload a little bit the 610 pre, and to use 1176 on master bus? BTW I have a LA2A, to connnect to this chain...

Thanks for your answer!

Tom

Realize that both 6176 and LA2A are mono units,
also that 1176 and LA2A are not exactly well known for mastering purposes,
same goes for the 610 even tho' i can imagine they could be used if not on a full track to warm up a coupla stem..
So, all in all, the answer is pretty much "no"..

UA 6176 is a 'font end' . Search this term and u'll find more about this channel strip.
Try to use more pre/comp 'gain' before 6176 and u'll be fine.
Stereo if it's possible
