PSP mast comp

Hi. Ok I'm seriously looking for someone who can explain certain features of the psp mast comp to me better, since the manual is a little vague.
Attached is a pic of the compressor. The 2 knobs in question are the "link" & "tilt" knobs. Can someone please help me understand their uses better? An online review explains it as follows: "The Link knob sets the amount of compression dependency between sidechain channels, and the Tilt knob adjusts the sidechain balance." not sure I fully grasp what is being said here? Can anyone elaborate? Thank u so much.

'Link' variably links/unlinks L+R channels & 'tilt' affects the tonal balance pre side-chain detector input. so, for example you can prevent excess gain reduction or pumping when the track is bass heavy by de-emphasising the bass frequencies before the detector, or maybe emphasising the highs so that the compressor/expander is triggered by the increased high frequency content instead (maybe for supressing or enhancing hi-hats for example). thumbsup

Maybe it's a good idea to check it out right now because yesterday i got a mail from PSP that it's on sale.
Though... no comment on sound, never heard it and i don't have it myself.

Master Comp sounds just fine.

Nothing plastic to my ear at all, but then I tend to use it mostly at very low ratios (2:1 and below), so maybe Pure Artist has different settings or applications that make it sound very different than I'm used to. Also I guess it could depend on your definition of "plastic".

A tools a tool.

, exactly. Also, the upwards expander rocks for reviving transients.
