Thanks once again Adam, these podcasts are really great. I've caught up on the last 6 or so over the last week, and have REALLY been enjoying them. Great job!

Much appreciated Gregg! Really glad you're enjoying them!
BTW, there's a new episode up today with Dave McNair.. He discusses his long, strange career and what it's like to work at Sterling Sound.
Thanks so much to Dave for his time, and to the receptionist at Sterling who had to reconnect us over and over during a series of randomly dropped calls.

Yeah you can tell... didn't feel like an 'interview' as such. More like popping in on a couple of old friends.

Big thanks to Noah for taking the time to speak with me, and for his frankness an candor. |

There's a new episode up today with Carl Saff. We talk about his humble beginnings working on a shoestring budget and why streamlining the mastering experience for clients is just as satisfying as making good masters.
If you're bored during the holidays there's also recent episodes with Dave Hill of Crane Song and Dave Greenberg of Sonopod to drown out the sound of your uncle's fishing stories.

Nice mention of the Wrens in the Saff one! Meadowlands is a classic and they are the best band I have ever seen live!

I saw Beirut a few years ago and they did the same thing. Different vibe, obviously, but still loads of audience-participating fun.

Just wanted to give a quick bump to this as I have been really enjoying the squarecad.net podcasts. The most recent interviews have been from Emily Lazar and EveAnna Manley. Always a great listen and are well worth checking out.

Hey adam, just wanted to say that square cad has been a permanent fixture on my iphone since episode one. Always informative and love the laid back style of interviewing you have going on. Plus they are roughly the same length as my weekly food shop so i can expand my mind while getting groceries! Keep up the good work.

The interviews with EveAnna Manley and Emily Lazar were a lot of fun to do. The recent episodes with Thomas/Sylvia of Northward and Brad Blackwood were also really fun and interesting. Check those out if you haven't yet.

The latest episode of the podcast features Dr. William Martin, head of OHSU's tinnitus clinic, tinnitus research lab, and the Dangerous Decibels program. We discuss auditory physiology, ways to protect your hearing, and what to do if you think your hearing may have been damaged.
Recommended for everyone who works with music.

Adam: I listened to your podcast in hearing loss and tinnitus and thought it was really excellent. Very informing.
For some reason the copy on my car iPod got quieter and quieter until it was inaudible by the end. I switched back and forth to other podcasts of yours and they were all playing at acceptable levels. It was just the podcast on hearing loss that was impossible to hear by the end of the show.
I was thinking it was some sort of sick hearing loss humor, but when I downloaded a fresh copy to look at it in sound forge it appears the same amplitude from end to end. Hmmm. A mystery. I got a good laugh from that anyway. Even if I was the only one to experience it.

Let's give Adam a break, there's a "little mini Adam" freshly arrived. :@)

If anyone else experienced a "quieting" at the end of the episode please re-download.
Thanks to Huejahfink for alerting me to the problem quickly!

My problem was I kept adjusting my ATC monitor gain, so at the end it was like +28 dB, only the end section was at "regular" volume, so I got severely blasted... Luckily nothing was damaged, and a great podcast!
Me too, thought it was a practical "joke" to reinforce the fact that hearing damage is bad!
I really look forward to this every fortnight, so keep up the good work Adam!
